For Women & For the Planet
Elevating Women Toward a Healthier, More Equitable Future
Community and Connection for women and gender-diverse individuals in the nonprofit sector working on land and water protection, species conservation, pollution controls and climate change
Our Mission
Our MISSION is to amplify and empower women who are driving environmental change. We envision a nurturing community and an individualized support system where women thrive as changemakers, stewards of the earth, and allies to one another. We believe that an investment in building and supporting women's participation and leadership is a direct investment in saving the planet.
We seek to create an impactful and inclusive community where women empower each other, learn from one another’s experiences, and find joy in sisterhood and allyship in their work to save the planet. A place where women redefine the characteristics of leadership they want to embody and succeed on their own terms. A place where more women’s ideas and talents are fully realized, leading to improved environmental outcomes.

Testimonials
Jamie Rappaport Clark, former US Fish and Wildlife Director and former President & CEO of Defenders of Wildlife
"Women have always led the way to drive change and bring about solutions and we must continue to counter efforts to devalue and downplay our contributions and achievements. McCrystie and Thu have created a much-needed program to help chart a new path for the next generation of conservation-minded women. I have worked closely with both of them for many years and know them to be savvy, pragmatic, and highly motivated professionals. McCrystie’s deep knowledge of conservation strategy, policy, law, and advocacy paired with Thu’s background in building women’s networks and nonprofit management expertise are unmatched. I am excited to watch them soar in this new endeavor. Timing is everything and we need their leadership and passion more than ever to conserve our precious natural heritage for now and for future generations.”
Fern Shepard, President, Rachel’s Network
“The data shows that women are the most reliable supporters of environmental protection, but women are both under-funded and under-represented in leadership positions. For over twenty-five years and in the spirit of Rachel Carson, Rachel’s Network has been a women’s network supporting and elevating women environmental leaders because we will not achieve a healthy, thriving, or just world without them. As our country faces significant threats to public lands and wildlife, She Saves Nature stands to coalesce the powerful voice of women to fight for conservation.”
Dr. Lindsay Rosa, PhD, Executive Director, Lakes Region Conservation Trust
"When you take a job saving the planet, no one tells you that the hardest part won't be the work - it'll be finding your footing in spaces that weren't built for you. I knew I was good at my job. What I needed was someone to help me trust that, and a community of women who got it without me having to explain it. Thu and McCrystie have been that for me. I show up differently now and work to redefine my workplace culture rather than shrink to fit one that is too small for the conservation impact I want to have."
Melanie Kay, Associate Teaching Professor, University of Colorado School of Law
"I’m thrilled to see McCrystie launch She Saves Nature at such a critical moment—when both our environment and the next generation of women conservation leaders need her most. I had the privilege of working with McCrystie early in my legal career at Earthjustice, and she remains one of the most exceptional mentors and teachers I’ve ever had. She made me a stronger, more effective, and more confident lawyer—sharpening my writing, analysis, and legal knowledge, as well as modeling the discipline, preparation, and professionalism that define truly excellent advocates. Just as importantly, she showed me what it looks like to hold yourself to the highest standards and refuse to settle for less. As a young woman entering a field still grappling with equity and inclusion, I benefited enormously from her guidance and example to find my place and voice. I’m excited to see her extend that impact through She Saves Nature, mentoring and empowering a new generation of women working to protect our planet.”
